Windermere Guesthouse and Hostel, 17 Church Street, Windermere, Cumbria, LA23 1AQ. Arriving by car, our accommodation can be found along the A591, a short drive from M6 junction 36. Upon arrival, on-street parking is available, allowing you to explore the area on foot if you wish.
Windermere Train Station and Bus Station
We are situated within a 2 minute walk from both Windermere Train Station and Windermere Bus Station. Arriving by public transport couldn’t be more convenient. With train links to all major destinations, it is easy to reach Windermere from London, Manchester and Edinburgh.
Places to eat and drink in Windermere
The location of our guest house is ideal for places to eat and drink in Windermere. Some of the most popular pubs include The Pig, Crafty Baa and the Brookside Inn. Where you will have the chance to sample locally brewed beer and enjoy a great pub lunch. For dinner, try Café Italia, Smokies Bar & Grill, Hooked and Francine’s. All within walking distance and providing a variety of options at a reasonable price.

If you are looking for things to do in the Lake District, our Windermere accommodation is in an ideal location. Make the most of staying in Windermere on a budget, with some of the most popular attractions within walking distance. Take a relaxing boat ride on Lake Windermere (1.5 miles away) or admire the views along Orrest Head Walk (less than 0.5 mile).
Other major tourist attractions include the famous Beatrix Potter Museum in Bowness-on-Windermere (1.5 miles away). Alternatively, the Mountain Goat Tours are based 5 minutes from your accommodation. Giving the chance to discover even more that the Lake District has to offer.

There is a 24 hour self-check-in from 3pm onwards, check-out by 10am.
While there is 24 hour CCTV during your stay, we unfortunately are unable to hold your luggage before or after your stay. There are however, lockers available at the Tourist Information Centre, just before you reach the train station.
Pets are allowed on site and children (under the age of 18) must be supervised at all times. We are unable to accommodate special events/stag-do/hen-do’s/private parties. Windermere Guesthouse and Hostel has a strictly no-smoking policy.
