There’s always something on in Windermere in August 2019, of course, is no different. Whether it’s visiting attractions during a summer holiday in Windermere or trying to plan a holiday in the Lake District on a budget, here are a few suggestions.
What’s on in Windermere in August 2019
Lake District Summer Music International Festival
Taking place at a number of venues across the Lake District in August 2019, you can keep costs down by attending a show near our Windermere Hostel. With the majority of shows focussing on classical and chamber music, check the official website for further details.
Prom Art in Bowness-on-Windermere
Although not just limited to Windermere in August 2019, Prom Art is particularly enjoyable during the summer months. It’s the chance to admire the work of local artists and many from outside the area. Market stalls will feature everything from fine art (both originals and prints) to pottery, woodwork and much more.
However, if you wish to view the artwork on offer outside the summer holiday in Windermere, Prom Art does still run from April to September.
Windermere Record Fair
If you’re a music fan, then this is your chance to find a bargain. Those classic pieces of vinyl can be hard to find on original 7’s or you might love the crackle of second-hand albums. While some old records can be worth a fortune, the average album from yesteryear is a lot cheaper than the newer limited-edition releases.
What’s more, you can walk to the record fair from our Windermere Guesthouse and Hostel, as it’s only at the Ladyholme Centre on Lake Road.
Summer Evening Buffet Cruise
Even staying on holiday in the Lake District on a budget, you can still enjoy a cruise on Lake Windermere in August 2019. The boat ride will take you the entire length of the Lake, giving you the chance to embrace the views as the sun goes down.
Run by Windermere Lake Cruises, prices start at just £20 for a 2-course buffet (including the boat ticket). There’s also live music on board and a fully licensed bar, although booking in advance is highly recommended.
Where is Peter Rabbit?
Staying at our Windermere Guest House and Hostel with children or maybe booking a summer holiday in Windermere to visit family. Either way, the World of Beatrix Potter is a must at any time of year. However, throughout the whole of August, you can enjoy this one of kind musical theatre production.
The story follows the adventures of the most famous rabbit in Windermere, Peter Rabbit. Enjoy the show as he embarks on an adventure with his mischievous companions. This is something for Windermere in August 2019 that’s most certainly going to be popular, especially families. So again, buy your tickets online to avoid disappointment.
